| That article was written by Brad Templeton, a staple of Usenet for many years. He was the moderator the rec.humor.funny newsgroup and published a printed copy with "the best of" each year. This was in the late 1980s.
He also started Clarinews, an email service where you could subscribe to various things: Reuters finance news, opinion columns, etc. I was a subscriber to Dave Barry, but that had to be pulled when it was found that the columns wandered around the internet too much. This was long before the World Wide Web.
Brad probably knows more about real-life copyright issues on the internet than anybody.
