| Southern Illinois problems?
Any one know what is up with the system in Southern IL.....Marion in Particular.......I got service 3 days ago.......was marginal at best.....a tech is coming to look at it tuesday......but the last 2 days there has been no service at all........they said they are doing fiber splicing......anyone have any ideas?

Marion, IL | yea same thing they told me...I was just curious if anyone was back up.I am on my DSL.......if medicom works out I am getting rid of my DSL....but I am far from sold thus far LOL |

I was hoping that by Mediacom rolling in here that would drive these insane thieving DSL prices down some. We pay 50% more than anyone else in the Country and are forced to get our own ISP?. WTF.
But being without Cable for weeks at a time isnt going to make that happen heh.
My modem is still synched up and the activity light blinks, but nothing. Rebooted it a couple of times to no avail. |

| that is the exact same thing I have.....I have my lap top hooked to cable right now so I can keep a eye on it....and the DSL I agree......I have 128/1.5MB DSL from neon internet and it is running 70.00 a month....and the monitor my bandwidth..and comnplain if i use too much.....so much for unlimited huh? LOL......but when my cable was on.....the results were dismal.......maybe it had some thing to do with the problems they were having......also maybe medicom should think about back up dial up isp's for people......if i had ONLY cable.i would be pissed as heck after 2 days of this LOL |

Knowing these hicks, they probably left the cut fiber and the shovels laying there for the weekend lol. They learned that from watching the highway workers on RT 37 
I would venture to say that your case is not isolated. My service in a week has never seen over 900 down, in most cases it has been around 500. IMO, my pings were great though. I pinged my clans server at 48 where DSL is over 100. |

latest status as of today is medicom has no idea when the service will be back up......it has been 3 days now with no service...tech support says it could be back up as early as today.....or another couple of days LOL....sure makes ya wonder what is up when it takes over 3 days to get service fixed.........anyone else care to comment? LOL |

If they lost one of those really huge high aerials (the kind so big they could severely injure or kill someone when they snap), then it could take a couple of days. Having it be Memorial Day weekend certainly wouldn't help.

I just wish they would have a status webpage or something that would let us know a little more about the progress or problems. While I appreciated the phone call on friday, I think this is a bit long to be left in the dark. |

well i agree with you on that but until they give us an update you wont get one either all we know right now is alot of the internet services are working(such as p2p apps,instant messaging,pings.etc) but some are not working right at all (browsing,downloads etc.)
all we know is that they are working to resolve the prob right now..

| I have a surf board sb4200.....all lights are on...and when i try to connect even the activity light flashes......I am using my lap yop so I need to register it cause I hooked my DSL back to my router.......i can get to the page that says I need to register my computer........but when ya get to the next one to replace it...the page will not fully load |

| I sent a instant message not sure if you got it or not.....I did not know my lap top had a mac adress.....I know my router does........but I am not hooking my router back up til every thing is back up again....since I have my DSL hooked to my router
