BEFW11S4 v4 aim problems

I just got the router on friday and everything seems to be working ok. Well after a firmware flash killed my router... ne way.. When i use aim after about 10-15 min of being idle aim looses its connection and tells me to check my internet connection. I can sign right back on but it is very annoying. Also there seems to be a lag between my ims and at certain times i cant look at peoples profiles. This happenes on both my wireless connection and wired connection. The computer hooked up to the wired connection has never had this problem before the router. Whats going on? Is there somthings i can change or do i have to live with this?

Unfortunatly I have had the same exact problem with the BEFW11S4 v4, I still have not figured it out. Any help would be appreciated.

I am experiencing the same behavior with MSN Messenger on BEFW11S4 v4. Please test yahoo games, such as blackjack/poker I am experiencing the same issues there. The keep session active is not occurring with this version of linksys and it is extremely frustrating.

Damn well atleast im not the only one. Dont try and upgrade the firmware like i did. the new verison kills the router. Maybe a new firmware will fix it.. time to call linksys

Uh...are you guys DSL'rs ?

DSL doesn't make a permanent connection. Instead it uses a very short-lived DHCP-like IP address assignment schema. You only have an IP address for as long as it takes to round trip your request and return of data.

Set the Keep Alive to 20 seconds at the bottom of the main page of the SETUP tab and hit the APPLY button.

I am using Comcast and this is painful. I never had this problem with the nonwireless Linksys router. I am about to RMA the Linksys and move to D-Link.

I'm not too smart when it comes to this stuff... but i do know how to do some things, I have the same router and the same EXACT thing happens to me after a while it disconnects me but I'm still on ubi.com and on AIM but the msn just cuts out and i have to reconnect i live in jersey and i have comcast cable... so it's not dsl, PLEASE HELP!... also when i go to www.teamspeak.org and try downloading ts2 at random points through the download it just stops... like it shows it's still downloading but it just stops and eventually times out and when i go to receive files on msn it doesn't let me... msn gives me this message " We could not send this file because the connection is blocked. Please contact your system administrator or Internet service provider; they may be able to enable file transfers." please help! thank you

I have a BEFW11S4 V.3, and I am on a PPPoE Wireless SDSL account. I never loose connectivity, and I've had the service about a month and have yet to have my IP change. I never have this problem with AIM...but I am also on a small local WISP...not a big one with congestion such as verizion or something. When these time outs appear with you and your DSL on AIM, what I would reccomend is just leave na away message...I average 26 hours online before my internet connection drops, requiring a reboot.

IFS please test yahoo games as well and see if you are experiencing the same behavior. I tried to download Trillian but the same logout problems occurred. Port triggerring did not work either (per Linksys website and Linksys phone support). If I don't find a solution in the next day I am switching over to D-Link, the Linksys just isn't worth the aggravation. I have yet to hear from anyone who has been successful with befw11s4 v4, maintaining their msn messenger connection.
