| Bi-Weekly Contest, weeks 14/15 Since the poll is running in favor of deciding the contest as a poll, we'll keep it that way...for now.
I want to expand it to two weeks, though, to get more entries, and allow more voting time. I'm going to try to get the voting set up Friday morning, and have it run through Sunday aftermoon.
Last week's winner was fredus , with his buddy the soccer player.
This weeks contest? Hell, let's go for Macros again...always an interesting one.
The rules:
Limit one entry per person, per contest.
Discussion is discouraged. (though that doesn't stop the creation of a 'companion' thread, for that purpose).
Remember that the picture will be reduced to 200 wide x140 high.

Does this mean we can enter two photos? Just not both in the same week? -- Gary Will Fly for Food |

Took this shot on a breakwater in the Ottawa river. There must have been thousands of spiders living in between the rocks. This one managed to stay still long enough for me to take its picture.
EDIT: This has been identified as a wolf spider. There are thousands of species of wolf spiders in North America. See discussion here: »Bi-Weekly Contest, weeks 14/15 Companion Thread [text was edited by author 2003-06-10 07:04:18] |

Couldn't push things too far, as I didn't have my linen tester with me. This is reduced to 33%, and I decided to rotate it. [text was edited by author 2003-06-10 09:28:56] |

A wasp sitting on a water lilly pad, drinking from a pond. I only had one chance at this shot before the wasp flew away. I wish I'd gotten a little more of its reflection in the water, and a not so much of its shadow.
Details: Olympus C-2100UZ with a +1 diopter close-up lens.
