[Project Hope] May 29- June8 Chairman Update

Good Afternoon Teammates and Members of 'Project Hope'

I will start this update on giving you all the changes that have been made since the last update.
First I will give you the status of where we stand financially.
(Actually Kristi did that already, this is just a reference to it).
»TD Project Hope Donations as of 6/8/03
As you can see we have made progress in our collection, thanks to members contributing and the challenges out there.
Just a reminder that this club and project is not exclusive and to become a member all you need to do is to send in a donation.
(As little as a dollar donation makes you a member)
You then become a member for life or at least the length of this project

Membership gives you the privilege to make all the decisions in the direction this project goes.
You receive a vote which is equal to all the other members.
So no one vote is greater then any other.
This is very important and especially at this critical time.
Within the next few weeks our members will need to make critical decisions on what equipment we buy.
There will be votes on what Processors we need to go with.
What Motherboards you feel is best to go with, and the other equipment that will go into the mojo’s (Blades).

--------------------------------------------------------

RXDOC placed a great post yesterday »Project Hope Secretary's Report with some of the updates that we made in our forums.
The Doc has also started to get us organized with what our hosts have and need.
This will be critical for us, after all our hosts can't host anything if they do not have the 'basics'.
In basics I mean keyboard, mouse, monitor, cables, router, and monitor.
As you can see some of those things aren't exactly basic items.
But never the less our hosts will need theme first before even receiving the main components to make the blades run.

Because we have 4 separate hosts it's very important that we stay very organized in what they will need.
This week I will do my best in making sure the hosts get the 'basic' parts they require.
Either it is through donations or ordering the parts.
If you donate anything we don't expect you to pay for S@H and will work with getting that paid for you.
Earlier in the week I made a post
»[Project Hope] What parts do you need? this gives us a very good idea what our hosts do need and what they already have.
This week we will work in cleaning up the chart and also making a checklist so the hosts can check off what they have and will need.
Everyone will have the opportunity to quickly see where our hosts stand at that point on the 'basics'.
This week I really do wish to get those things over to our hosts.
And if you do have the parts to donate, please give RXDOC See Profile a quick instant and this way we can confirm that we have that item covered.
If it's cheaper for the team to pay S@H to obtain the donated part then we will go that way.
If it happens to be a cheaper item such as a keyboard or mouse then it might make more
sense to just buy the item new.
But we will do what's best for the team and what’s best in keeping our costs down.
This way we will have more money going toward parts as processors and such that will help us do the actual crunching.

--------------------------------------------------------

This week will be a very active one in getting the current hosts the basics.
This week will also be a very active one in the 'Project Hope forum'
We will have many topics and discussions into the parts that we shall go with.
So I really need the members to get over there often and make there voices heard and your votes cast.
(Just a reminder if you have not registered yet takes a moment to do so.)

The next few weeks will determine what parts this project will have.
And I don't want anyone coming back and saying they didn't have there say
This is the time to make your voices heard.

--------------------------------------------------------

One last thing that came up this week that I would like to incorporate into this project.
We are all here looking for cures.
And the main job of the project will also to look for a cure, be it Cancer/smallpox
(Whichever one UD gives us) or TSC (childhood disease).
Many people on the team have been personally influenced and or affected by possibly one of them.
So with that being said I will open up to making donation in the name of a loved one.
We will add a special section just for this.
And when you make your donation, if you mention the name of the person it is in tribute for we will make sure it will appear.

Thanks to all everyone that is driving this project.
Till next update;

As I said in the update i really want to cover a lot of ground this weekend.
But I need the members to make frequent trips and a lot of input on what we want to go with.
I made this post at the forum, »www.tdprojecthope.org/forum/view···=683#683
please stop by and add your input.

Lisa our current topic is power supplies »www.tdprojecthope.org/forum/view···php?t=75
Not very glamorous I know , but still something we need to have.

Next Topic should be mother boards, and that probably will go hand in hand with the processor.
Once we have the mother board we probably won't have any problems choosing the
Other items such as memory or other accessories if we need them.
