| Is DSL Designs still in business?
Does anyone know if DSL Designs is still in business? No one answers their phones and their home page seems to be down. When you try it you get the following error message:
Warning: main() [function.main]: php_hostconnect: connect failed in /home/neilr/public_html/index.php on line 52
Warning: main(»dsldesigns.com/header.php) [function.main]: failed to create stream: No route to host in /home/neilr/public_html/index.php on line 52
Fatal error: main() [function.main]: Failed opening required '»dsldesigns.com/header.php' (include_path='') in /home/neilr/public_html/index.php on line 52
I would greatly appreciate it if anyone knows what's going on. Thanks. |

@proofpoint.com | My DSL connection is down for over 4 days already, tried to call DSL Designs (support, sales, billing). Nobody picks up and the billing voicemail box is full. Their office is on my way home, will stop by today to check out what's going on.... |

| reply to tufftest Got an e-mail this afternoon that Verizon has pulled the plug. Tomorrow is the day they are done.
ONLY if you pay your entire bill to DSLDesigns, so I pay $50/month to them (I'm classified as a wholesale subscriber) so I lose out. If you pay $17 to DslDesigns and $32 to Verizon - you are supposedly ok - FOR NOW!
hope this helps |

| A new [LOCAL!] company is being formed that hopefully will pick up the pieces. Verizon won't assist with migrations, so everyone is SOL.
Let me know if you are interested in a wireless setup. -- The glass is neither half full nor half empty;it depends on if you're pouring it out or filling it up. |

| reply to tufftest Just got a call (Fri, 6/26, 1530 hrs) from Roy at Silicon Valley Internet (garlic.com) in San Martin claiming that DSL Designs was 1) bankrupt, 2) discontinuing all service "soon", and 3) pulling the plug. He claimed that he was "authorized" to solicit all DSLD customers to switch to SVI post-haste. I received e-mail service agreement from James Alexander in SVI sales and I intend to subscribe as soon as I can verify a few facts. SVI pricing seems reasonable and I will check their reputation here on Broadband reports. I had no problems with DSLD except for occasional down time which was a nuisance but not critical. When the line was up it was great. Service was not exactly terrific, but who needs service if it's working? I need my DSL! I am tired of living on the edge. |

| reply to redsparks DON'T SIGN UP WITH SVI!!! Verizon offers a better package for $34.95 a month. Once your line is released - they will give you 1st month free, next 3 for $29.95, then $34.95 after that! 1.5MB download with 128KB upload!
I got the same call froom SVI, they were too eager to get people signed so I looked at Verizon's site.
Also, SVI hasn't had the best reviews and I know someone that had them and finally switched to earthlink.
Just a FYI |

| I'm trying to sign up with Verizon, but they say I can't because I already have DSL. It sounds like DSL Designs still needs to do something to release my line. Anybody else come across this problem? Also, I tried calling SVI to see if they could do something about it, and every phone number they have gives a busy signal. Will this ever end?! |

| reply to tufftest Re: Is DSL Designs still in business? - Colocation
I have my server colocated at DSLDesigns and I have no way of getting it back. I drove all the way down there today (2 and a half hours) from santa rosa to see if i could catch someone but door was closed and there was a note there. I wouldn't really worry if i were a DSL customer cause i could just disconnect and use someone else but I have a 2000 dollar server over there that I no longer have access to. If any of DSLDesign's techs are reading this, please e-mail me at arvand@sbcglobal.net If anyone else can help me regarding this matter please let me know.
Thanks, Arvand Sabetian |

| I was awake for over 35 hours and needed to rest. I'm sorry, but all colocation customers were given our cellphone numbers. I will contact you (with my cell) to work this out . -- The glass is neither half full nor half empty;it depends on if you're pouring it out or filling it up. |

How can we get DSL Designs to release our phone lines so we can get alternative service??
DSL Designs emails are down, no phone support, and their partner does not know how to release the lines.
Any ideas? Can we call Verizon and authorize release ourselves? |

| reply to tufftest I signed up with SVI, but have not heard anything from them for a week. There phone lines are busy and no respond to any email. I have a feeling SVI is just another DSLDesigns, a bunch of amateurs trying to run a service. Does anyone knows if Verizon provides you with a static IP address? |

| reply to tufftest Since SVI internet does not give me any information about the status of my order, I called Verizon myself; appearenly DSLDesigns is removing their equipment from the co-lo on monday and thus allowing other to install their equipment.... Seems the Verizon deal is pretty good, way cheaper than SVI, only they don't give you a static IP address. |

@216.139.x.x
| reply to needdslnow You are somewhat right
Remember the old saying: Cheap, reliable, fast. Pick two. If you want cheap then SVI is probably not the way to go.
I apologize if the lines are busy. Needless to say, trying to connect all these customers has us going crazy. Verizon is only allowing us to do so many customers per day.
We do have open DSL slots and can handle requests. We are also adding another T3 to the internet to handle the load.
Drop a line to info@garlic.com if you have questions.
