Transition fine...email servers SLOW, spam

I didn't have a problem transitioning over on my tower. My laptop is connected by wireless, and it didn't take yesterday, because I like to turn on my wireless connection after bootup if I need it.

Apparently, the transition software looks for the connection as your system loads the software, so if you aren't connected to the internet immedately, you don't get through. So I plugged my laptop directly into my router, rebooted, and viola, the transition wizard took.

When I went to check my mail, the servers were, and still are SLOW. It works, but it takes a good while to get your mail.

Plus, I had a couple of presents in my mailbox when checking it for the first time under Comcast. SPAM. I got two spam emails immediately as a Comcast customer, and a third later on that day, all about the same stupid sales pitch. I've never gotten spam from this given source. I wonder if they planned on the Comcast transition somehow?

My transition was mostly smooth. Couple times when checking mail I got errors (server dropped connection, etc). Now I want to turn off the mail forwarding as soon as I can at the old attbi.com address so I might enjoy a couple days of spam free mail at Comcast. Though, I know it won't last long.

If you only get 3 spam messages a day, I'd like to trade mailboxes with you

Just curious. Was the spam the one to the tune of "FREE PASSWORD" or "FREE ACCOUNT"? This one has been happening forever with Comcast. I am sick of trying to trace the Eurotrash that constantly sends this one to the Comcast domain. But I don't know for sure if that is Comcast's fault.

I don't remember off the top of my head what it was, as I don't normally sit there and read through them, but I do know it wasn't a free password or free account series of emails.

No TV reception, phone overbill $730, Net price up

I tried AT&T Digital cable TV and it worked for the last 2 months out of 8. Disconnected due to non-payment, I could not tell the difference, almost no reception. Out with the digital cable. They found they were the cause...

AT&T local phone service, they over billed me by $730.00, disconnected my phone service, charged me for the reconnection when they said they wouldn't and it took from June of 2002 -- February 2003 for them to fix my bill. They then checked my credit (lowers my score) and set a $$ limit on all bills going forward due to their mistake. I have detailed records to back this up. They can't help me.

Internet service was slow and disconnected for non-payment. When they reconnected me it worked at a wonderful speed. I was told "Oh, I'm sorry it must have been a bad connection.... yes you have to pay the reconnect fee..." It cost approximately $37.00 per month when I started with AT&T Broadband internet on 3/22/2002 and has increased constantly to the current $53.00 per month. Now I get to see their financial reports on the Comcast web page. Who cares about their financials when we are getting screwed..? My neighbors and I are going to look into a business DSL account allowing us to split the service. Comcast a name does not change the crappy service, don't you get it yet???
