knoxville up to 3Mbits?? I think so:)I just did a download test from PC pitstop and DSL reports both show 2.8Mbits down. Can anybody else back this up for Knoxville, TN?
Thanks, |

Knoxville is a prototype testing area for 3000/256. This may be temporary so don't get your hopes too high. |

And how do you know this? |

Seen the internal notes from Comcast for it. |

Well if they are testing, that's good news at least. Hopefully it goes well so the rest can enjoy some more speed. |

Its a stress test kinda. To see how an average size system handles the bandwidth usage. It may one day soon roll out everywhere but again this is how it starts. |

Could someone in the knoxville area download the test64 file from » ftp:// ftp1.optonline.net while running NetPerSec at the same time and post a screen shot showing both? It would be nice to actually see these higher speeds. I'm not saying I don't believe them...just like to see for my own eyes! |

Yes this appears to be true.
Ran several speed tests and got 2.9-3.2 consistently. Now this really rocks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 |

I really do hope this is true, and this stress test, can actually turn into reality for all comcast users. I wouldn't mind seeing fast speeds of 3MBits, although, I really wouldn't use that often. But still to have the knowledge and comfort that when I do download large files, or stream videos, that it is going that fast helps me. |
