| Contest, weeks 18-19 shaner was the winner last contest, with the only bicycle pic entered.
This time around, as suggested here by AzzKicker , and also in honor of the Gallery's 600th pic, we'll do 'Celebrations'. I don't want to limit it, though, to only the holidays falling about this time, so it's open to any and all celebrations.
The contest begins now; entries stop in the morning of Friday the 18th.
The rules:
Limit one entry per person, per contest.
Discussion is discouraged. (though that doesn't stop the creation of a 'companion' thread, for that purpose).
Remember that the picture will be reduced to 200 wide x140 high.

Sorry hocktwoie if it seems like I'm copying your idea, this was the first image of mine that came to mind right after reading this week's contest (before I saw yours). |

Those are some great fireworks pics, & don't expect to compete with them, but here's one for a little variety. -- Anything that ever was, was once a dream... |

Contest, weeks 18-19: Brazil Wins! Here is my entry for 'Celebrations'
I took this photo at the Arc de Triomphe in Paris, France in 2002 on the day that Brazil won the world cup. The Arc is a common focal point for celebrations in Paris. We were actually evacuated from the Arc by police, because things were starting to get a little out of control. I naturally decided it would be a perfect time to take some pictures.
This celebration stretched all the way down Champs Elysees and this photo is just a small part of it. I thought it gave a good feeling for the amount of energy in the air. |

A glass of our rosé left on the deck railing yesterday afternoon by friends. It looked beautiful with the sun shining through it. The sparkles are natural; all I did was take the picture and crop it. -- SRS | Earthlink | Win2K SP3 | G11 | 1370 | ver. 4.0.3.9 | NO SP-B | Gateway .55 |

We got married with my wife last year in Half Moon bay,CA. We were just both of us on this day (We do celebrate it in less than a month in France !). We bough some champagne and some funny figures just for the heck of it. I took this picture in our bed and breakfast room ... I keep the other pictures for myself -- Impress your friends !
