| Triad RR Cap Increased to 100gig and 40gigs
Effective July 2003, Time Warner Cable will offer an expanded range of Residential Internet service packages to better suit the needs of our Road Runner High-Speed Online customers. The new packages, including Road Runner and Road Runner Xtreme, are designed to offer our most serious Internet users increased speed and more robust consumption parameters.
Specifically, the Road Runner Xtreme package offers our intense high-speed data users a throughput capacity of up to 3 MB (downstream)/ up to 512 KB (upstream) and up to 100 GB of total monthly bandwidth usage for $79.95. This compares with the standard Road Runner services of up to 2 MB/384 KB and 40 GB for $44.95 per month. |

edit: Seems our complaining and dropping rr may be having an effect. This is a step in the right direction. Now we need to see better upstream speeds, eg. 768kbit/sec minimum for the extreme package would be nice.

| reply to badwished Kick ass!!!!I have been waiting forever to get the RR Extreme package. But its only been available to a few states for testing purposes.Reason is that I'm paying $111.00 a month now for Roadrunner Business class at 512/512.I needed more upload. Now I can pay less and have my download speeds back with an 1000Mbs increase for less money and keep my 512K upload.S W E E T ! ! ! I shall call my isp division tomorrow morning.I'm going to cry if they tell me they have never heard of this RR Extreme package like they always do.So I hope they dont try to act stupid on me. Thanx for the post...

That makes no sense. Because when you click on the 'additional facts" from the link Efudd gave, you get RR National which informs you that the limit is 15gigs not 40 for standard RR service. -- "Everything can be taken from a man or woman but one thing: the last of the human freedoms - to choose one's attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one's destiny." it will be interesting to see if and when this goes national. |

| I think it rather amusing that when I click on the link, I get that tiered services faq in the Hawaii RR page. Thus, it appears that this is in effect for Hawaii. That is not true. When I click on a RR link for another franchise, I really shouldn't end up in the Hawaii franchise seeing the other franchise's link! That will confuse a lot of customers. I should click directly into that franchise (or be blocked since it isn't my franchise). Of course, if I go directly to the National RR help site, via my local franchise's Member Services page, I cannot find such a faq. -- "Everything can be taken from a man or woman but one thing: the last of the human freedoms - to choose one's attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one's destiny." | There's a cookie on your system that the help.rr.com server uses to create an ASP page specific to your locale. When you enter the link that EFudd provided, you access a page that you could not otherwise get to from your locale's FAQ menuing system. The cookie causes the heading to be customized for your locale even though it is not relevant. |

| I only have about 5 or 6 cookies on this box so I didn't even think about a cookie being the reason for the Hawaii heading on that page. I allow very few cookies and so just wasn't thinking in those terms. If/when the tiered service comes to Hawaii, I will most likely upgrade to Xtreme (or possibly Business Class). |

| reply to badwished Different service, different price... seems okay. BUT, do they "guarantee" the service level? For the price they most certainly should and NOT using their own speedtest (which we all know is majorily bogus!). Unfortunately, users/customers in northern Virginia are limited to the "Monopoly" (a.k.a. Cox Communications of Northern Virginia) who won't even provide adequate basic services for either video or data. |
