"Just tuning into the weather...and 900MHZ phone calls. *snicker*"

Pretty lame listening to other people's phone calls. Hope that's a joke.

Back in school in the early 90's I worked in Radio Shack. People used to ask all the time if they could get cell phones on scanners. I used to love making those kind of comments Oddly, I still sold a lot of scanners.

You don't know what you're picking up, and sometimes you've listened to part of a conversation before you realise it's a personal phone call. Then it sort of becomes the loud argument in the apartment next to you; you can't help but hear it. That being said, people just don't know how unsecure cordless and analog cellular communication is.

No, I don't have one. It's right there on my wishlist with the shortwave radio.

Not the panasonic with 2 antennas, one for 2.4 the other for 900.

look a uniden's TRU line
they have regular "phony 2.4" and TRU 2.4
two years ago I bought a Uniden TRU346 to my mother

I bought a scanner to my father when he retired, much more interesting than TV. :-D

I don't have time to use my good old radio shack PRO2006

If you're looking for a professional radio stuff, google for ELKEL, much better that your local rat.shack :-D
