I agree, if the price is right I can totally ditch the local cable company, they suck.

Why does this allow you to finally ditch the cable company? You must be a complete SBC suckup. So, you can only get DishNetwork now that it has SBC's stamp of approval? You could've easily gotten DishNetwork all along. This is a pathetic attempt to compete against cable, and doesn't increase competition at all. DishNetwork has been a competitive option all them time anyways. As for bundling, Dish already had a DSL bundling deal with Earthlink. Plus, if you think that this will make Dishnetwork a better deal than it already is, think again. You will have to get sign up for Dish with SBC(who will get the $50 commission). You'll get far better deal(even with including the bundling) if you go with an independent DishNetwork retailer that installs. They get a much greater commission which they can give you a chunk of and blow away any deal SBC DishNetwork has has. Ex: I currently will pay people $80 to take a 2 receiver system with free installation(instead of charging them $50 upfront), they will then get 4 months of AT100+ HBO and Cinemax free(instead of 3 because I don't charge the $50). My deal is effectively $130 better.

This point is moot 2far since you must be no farther than 4,000 feet from your CO to get VDSL. Qwest is finding out its not as lucrative as they thought it might be. not too many people are 4 kilofeet or closer to their CO's. As for DISHNETWORK they werent bad [productwise] but their BILLING dept totally sucks.

Oh, I don't know about that. I've got no problems with my bill every month: $0(from ClubDish credits)

and when everyone sells dish network, just think how little it will cost, and how many jobs will be available. maybe dish network will solve the unemployment situation. yeah, and multi-level marketing will pick up the slack.

Yeah, the reason people don't choose Dish is because of their billing dept. ALMOST NOBODY MAKES CONSUMER DECISIONS BASED ON BILLING DEPTs. Only companies whose products suck and prices are a rippoff will brag about nebulous things like billing department or customer service. I never heard about CableVision OOL having such a great billing department because people were so in love with the 8mb/1mb service. Only people so rich that they have nothing else to worry about but customer service and billing actually care about that. In this economy, people care about 1 thing and 1 thing only: getting the best deal.

Well, they solved my personal unemployment problem. The fact is that tons of people in this economy will gladly sacrifice a little customer service in order to save money. Customer service is something you prioritize in a good economy. I target people who want to penny pinch to the extreme. I'm targeting this economy.

Dude you are not reading this correctly, for what I see sbc won't be selling dishnetwork but bundling to their existing customer at a discount to make it atractive for what I understand you can go and tell your customers they can bundle the dish with dsl, wireless and phone this will actually will make it easy to sell it to your customers, sa far as deals go you know they are the same from dish network to all retailer is all matter of what you do to get the customers and if you are an small retailer you can take a chunk out of your commission and pass it to your customers. I am a retailer myself and I look forward to see if i can offer lower prices to better compete with cable

are you saying people would rather have that cheapo dish network and it's poor quality for a few pennies less vs. directv? they'll get what they pay for. and, maybe those people should look into amway too.
