it might actually be a decent deal. If the service is 3Mbps download and 512kbps up and allows you to run servers, have a static IP, and have good peering (as in, not the congested AOL backbone), depending on the price I would go for it. Right now I have to pay $80 a month for 768/384 DSL with a static IP and they allow servers. If the 3Mbps/512kbps service were offered for around the same or up to $30 more, I would definitely go for it, provided it met the conditions I outlined above. Unfortunately I don't live in an area where Time Warner Maine is available, but I might move soon to an area where it is.
Also, Time warner of maine has a business offering, but it costs $1000 per month for 2Mbps symmetrical service, and you are only allowed to run a web server on it. |
