I've been with Covad.net for seven months now. I'm really happy with the speed and reliability. I have 1500/384 service and get around 1275/300 in throughput. I've had one problem caused by Verizon. They disconnected my line because their database was screwed up (again). The service is generally good, though first tier leaves a lot to be desired.
On the downside, I'm paying $65/month. That's pretty high compared to other offerings. I felt my options were Verizon (yuck), Covad or Cyberonic. I went with Covad because they've been around through thick and thin, had the static (or fixed) ip option and pretty good upload speed. I need a reliable line because my wife and I work at home a lot.
I'm keeping my eye on Cyberonic. A lot of folks went there because they had a great deal ($50 for 1500/768). The company went through some growing pains and had some problems though. A lot like the early days of Telocity and Directv DSL. When my contracts up in January, I may hop to them if they're stable. But who knows, Covad might drop their prices. |
