Team Discovery's Project Hope

Hi All,
I hope that it is OK to post a plug about Team Discovery's Project Hope here. I am the treasurer for TD Project Hope. We are finally getting close to our dream of having eight blades crunch for UD (United Devices) and TSC (Tuberous Sclerosis Complex). We've finally raised enough money to purchase the parts for the blades. We are hoping that the blades are ready for crunching for in early August. Please feel free to check out TD Project Hope at »www.tdprojecthope.org/ Or visit the TD forum here at BBR.

It is more than okay, simplykristi. This forum is for all BBR DC projects. Be assured all we DCers are thrilled to learn about yours.

Let us know what you need here, link at the top of the forum, a FAQ section? You name it and Fishie and I will do our best to accomodate.

Crunch on for those cures!

Edit: Added a radio button for posts, TDPH

I think the link at the top for TDPH should point to their website and not directly to an off BBR forum.

Also, I don't crunch for TD ... but I still joined PH and so can you good cause it is.

Or at lest to their onsite forum.

Looks good people... Nice to see more people following this path. Wishing you and your project all the best of luck.

All they need to do is say the word. Fishie and I aim to accomodate where we can.

Word

The main web pages have more information on the goals of the project than the forum pages do. If someone is looking for information on the project they should start there. The forum was added to keep the disco form less cluttered and to keep most of the project discussion in one place.

But, I thought that is what this forum was created for?

Hey, I just design the website and serve on the board, don't ask me tough questions like that.

It was considered to bring the project discussion here, it just ended up over at the TDPH forums for one reason or another.

Well, we forced the FP discussion here and I think in the end it was a good idea. I think it would be OUTSTANDING to bring the TDPH discussion here as well. Let's fully utilize this forum and benefit from the sharing that will go on by bringing another DC project here!

Yep

That also counts for this:

In my humble opinion, TDPH discussions would certainly be welcome in this forum.

Good thoughts fishie ... and I think ColdinCbus already gave you the "word"

But more importantly ... I think the DC Executive Committee should seriously address the forum question in the same way they discussed/debated/decided for FP. My take on this is that the best BBR decisions are driven over what might be best for one particular DC team.

Does "Word" mean you want the link to the website rather than to the forum? Just want to make sure.

I did not know about this forum until one day I was looking around BBR/DSLR.

If Fishie hasn't done it already, I'll change it to link to the website, can always change it back if that's what is desired.

Well, Kristi, we're "simply" glad you found us.

Edit: Done! Looking forward to the building of your FAQ section.

Sorry it took me so long to get back on this post.

I recently went on vacation.
And am still catching up with posts I missed
(You can have look at of the pictures from it in my journal, »why I wonder middle of page 4- till page 6)

It's incredible that everything is starting to come together for us.
And our hosts (we have 4 hosts for this project) are starting to get the parts and starting to crunch.

The next month or 2 will be a trial period to see how things go for each host.
It will also be a time to see how there electrical bill will be affected by the extra crunchers.
Once we have that info, we will look possibly into expanding.
We will do this in one of 2 ways.
Another donation drive and possibly a collection of parts from the volunteers that already offered parts.

We are lucky enough to have 4 separate hosts, so the strain should not be terribly great on any one host.

But I still think it's a good idea to first have everything set up before we look to expand and add more blades.

If you care to look at some of the parts you can have a look on this post »Parts arrived today!
