| Re: SLOWWW IN MARYLAND (baltimore) I couldn't get connected at all earlier, so I switched over to my cable modem.
On the DSL line, ready light is on, but my router complains that it can't contact the PPPoE server. Power cycling both the modem and then the router did not seem to have any effect.
Their system status page »cgi.verizon.net/systemstatus/sta···=central has "nothing to report". So maybe they don't know about it, yet. Call in and report it!
EDIT: I just tried connecting it to my WinXP box directly with WinXP's built in PPPoE support. At first I got an error code 619. I tried again to connect and it worked. I switched back over to my router and it's working OK now, too. Speed test gave 1508 / 137 and 1510 / 136 to the NJ speed test here at DSLR. Maybe it's fixed... maybe it's not. (I never noticed slowdown; it just outright wasn't working when I checked it at noon today).
EDIT #2: I briefly could not connect while trying to post this. Before I could log into my router to check if it was still connected via PPPoE, the connection was back. [text was edited by author 2003-07-29 15:22:47] |
