Re: Should i use USB or Ethernet?

Hey Guys,
I've been trying very hard to get an answer or help to this question, but no one seems to have an answer.

Both me and a friend have Win XP home and Westtell modems. Hers is just ethernet mine is Westell wirespeed with both USB and Ethernet....

Both hang with boot up for the 30 sec I assume to time out waiting for the ethernet connection. The USB zips right on thru when I boot up.

I am getting great speeds with both USB and Ethernet... about 3 to 5 kbs diffrent in speed between the USB and Ethernet.

Can anyone tell me how to stop the hang up? This only happens to both of us after reformatting.
Thanks for your help
Ope

USB network connections are historically troublesome. They are just not dependable. If you have an ethernet NIC, use it, if not, I suggest buying one. You can get a PCI NIC for under $20, and it will be well worth it.

I would only use the USB connection in a case where ethernet was not an option for some reason.

Does it matter at all which i use?...as far as i know the usb would be connected with 12mb and the ethernet with 100mb...but the dsl connection is 1.5mb. So i don't really think it would make a difference right? any suggestions?...
