EarthLink Electronic Support Response

This is a support response from EarthLink

Addicted2Net,

When you get disconnected, do you still have an IP address?

Are you able to "ping" 207.69.188.185 or mindspring.com once you get disconnected?

What operating system are you using?

Are you going through a router?

Have you powercycled your cable modem and computer to see if that resolves the problem?

Are you using USB or Ethernet? Try switching to USB if using Ethernet or switching to Ethernet if using USB.

Please respond to this post to let us know if your issue is resolved. If you have any further problems, questions or concerns please feel free to contact us via the live chat link below.

Re: Disconnects while downloading anything

Yes, Cable_Chris I know where I am, at least most of the time. Addicted2Net had originally posted in the Earthlink DSL forum and I suggested it be moved here. See: »(topic move) Disconnects while downloading anything

There is a separate forum for Earthlink cable. You might have better luck getting help there. »Earthlink Cable

I have a cable modem. Almost 90% of the time I am getting disconnected while downloading anything online. Tried even plugging off and plugging in the modem, still same results. If not downloading anything, my connection rocks!!!!
