Man oh man... they really are everywhere.

What kind of software do they use to run those big screens? Just a simple multimedia player in fullscreen mode?

Astounding.

They should start using one of the more stable operating systems for public displays.

Eh windows is very stable. My windows system has never crashed. It all depends on how much crap you load into it and not clean it out. I guarantee if you do a format and clean install of an XP operating system, and make sure you install software that is beta, or bug causing, or play around with the system files in anyway that you will never crash. I run my machine 24/7 for weeks and never get a crash or have to restart until I install some software that requires restart.

Yea that was a run-on sentence.

Yeah i run win2k, since i have no choice but to run a windows system because many software needs windows to run. I never crashed before. I did, but it was a power supply problem.

Its stable like a rock.

Why run Linux and WINE if he can run Win2k and it is solid like a rock.

I've tried that. I still prefer win2K or winXP since its a real windows OS and not an emulator. Though I dont like winXP too much because IMO its bloated. No offense, winXP is a good O/S but I don't use most of its features and I use win2K to manage the home network I have.

EDIT: I meant to quote the other statement you said. About WINE and Linux. Sorry.
