Goodbye Customer service...it was nice meeting you

Today my line was up, that was the good news. After all i "only" waited a whole month.
The bad news is Since COVAD uses different equipment than Northpoint did, they had to install a new modem/router. So far, fine with me.
After everything was installed i receive an email from MEGAPATH, telling me they have taken the liberty to charge me for this modem, even though i already had paid for the old one back when i signed with them. How the hell can they charge me without my damn permission! they created the problem, they have to solve it, Is not my damn fault! They are telling me they will reimburse me, but i have to mail the modem (which is a pain) i have to pay for the shipping (insured of course, and at my own cost) and i won't see my money back until two months.

Why in the hell they don't charge me in two months (when they expect me to get my money back). why doesn't covad take the modem with them, so i don't have to mail it. If they have space in their bags for the new modem, after they leave it, they have exactly the same space for the old one.

All i see is that customer service is becoming worse and worse every year. In all kinds of industries. Nobody gives a crap about nobody anymore. Overall i consider megapath to have average-good service, but doing this looks pretty dirty to me.

Where is our compensation for all the problems we have suffered? A free use of a dial-up account for a month? that seems pretty crappy to me!!

You are lucky..mine has been down about 6 weeks,Megapath/Rhythms/Pacific Bell are at a loss about what line to use and the exact the distance .The FOC was cancelled April 20..because a hot cut was to occur about that time..so if another FOC is given...my line may be back up around July.
I would use Covad but I am 15,300` from the CO..or I could be over 18,000`..according to the latest loop test...or was that 220`.
