| Contest, weeks 24-25 Blame MLOK5 . I hadn't realized how long it had been since the architecture contest, so we'll do that again...
Last contest's winner was NJChris with littlesplash
The contest begins now; entries stop in the morning of Friday the 29th.
The rules:
Limit one entry per person, per contest.
Discussion is discouraged. (though that doesn't stop the creation of a 'companion' thread, for that purpose).
Information on judging may be found here.
Remember that the picture will be reduced to 200 wide x140 high.

I grew up in a town with Covered bridges, so I have a soft spot for them. Structure or architecture, hope it is within giudelines. Grave Creek bridge off of I-5 in Oregon 2 weeks ago. A 17 year old boy was buried here at the end of the Oregon trail, thus the name. -- »www.yugop.com/ver3/stuff/03/fla.html |

Exposition/Worlds Fair buildings... like the Exploratoruim in SF, structures that have out lived their intended use...2 to 4 years (and even earthquakes) by nearing 100 years.
PS with recent resoration (SD)... but still we build something for 2 years these days it DOES fall down shortly after that or is torn down. -- »haywardm.com (Hayward's Key West)

This is a picture of Hirosaki Castle taken during the Spring Cherry Blossom festival. This was taken sometime between 86 & 88, can't remember for sure. I was just starting to get into photography and I think this was taken with a Minolta X-700 on slide. Again, this is a bad scan. No PS touch-ups. |

The Taxpayer's Bridge Leonard P. Zakim Bunker Hill Bridge in Boston, Massachusetts. I had the opportunity to take a walk across the bridge on Mother's Day, 2002, before it was opened to traffic, and I shot lots of photos. This is a shot from underneath one of the towers, with the cable stays radiating towards the camera. -- [world wide wood][geeky gallery][home server] |
