we'd suddenly started having trouble with WU about a week ago, and quite a few friends have reported serious problems in the last week as well, though the form the problems take seem to differ. something is definitely not right there. -- graciella!"not tonight dear, I have DSL." Strangely enough, I haven't experienced any problems either. -- The views expressed in this post do not necessarily reflect the views of the poster. | |

| »v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/e···ault.asp resolves to 209.247.88.180 for me but I do not think that will help you. The first link works but not it's numerical counterpart for getting to the Windows Update site.

| I had problems with WU as well earlier this week. I solved it by resolving download.windowsupdate.com to 208.172.158.234 in my hosts file (MSoft switched a lot of domains around and a lot of DNS still haven't caught up). -- Give a man a fish and he'll ask for a lemon and some butter. | i don't know why this is happening but i have seen that thanku screen too and it started around the time the msblaster started attacking the internet. I it has been appeaing here and there once in a while but usually if i go to the update site after about 2 hours - it's back to normal. When i see that "thank you" page and look at google's cache of windowsupdate.microsoft.com, google's cache also has that "thank you" page so that's how i found out that i'm not the only one seeing this thank you page. Google did too at one point. I would gess that they are having technical difficulties... no big deal. | |
