| Technique! Week 6
Welcome to Technique! Week 6. Week 5 is officially closed for new photos. Special thanks once again to Edit This for sharing his technique for creating cool backgrounds via masks. Talk about some great pics!!
The goal of this thread is for one of the members of the forum to share a photographic technique with the rest of the forum. Then we can all practice this technique & upload our results. The technique doesn't have to be limited to digital editing. It can be related to other things as well, like exposure, depth-of-field, etc. A good example of a technique thread can be found here.
Who has a technique they'd like to share with the forum? |

| No problem Fritty!
I have one that does in fact deal with editing. I went to my first basketball game earlier this year (A Warriors vs. Knicks game @ Oakland) and took a bunch of pictures. I took this one and took a very simple approach to freezing the surrounding people and making the shooting player more dramatic:
1) Crop image to fit appropriate amount of image in the desired frame 2) Magnify image to about 300% of original size:
3) Use the very carefully select player or piece of photo you DON'T want to be in black & white 4) Right click on your selection and click .
5) From the 'Image' Menu, select from the 'Adjustments' sub-menu.
Voila! [text was edited by author 2003-08-23 20:17:51] |

| Yes it is similar, but with all the PS & PSP rookies in here, it seems like a good idea to keep practicing with the lasso & masks.

Ok I think I got it. Thanks.
Cute story to go along with this picture. Look just to the left of my son and notice the young lad looking right at him. That young lad has had a crush on the girl to my kids right for some time. He doesn't look to happy about my kid wrapping his arm around her.;) [text was edited by author 2003-08-24 09:27:28] |

| reply to MLOK5 Original picture taken on Fuji NPS film taken on a Nikon 35mm. Scanned in the picture and did a selection with the magic wand, cleaned it up a bit with the different tools in PS7, inverted selection, desaturate, inverted selection, slight increase in saturation, save. Did this last fall at school because I felt like it one day. Never thought I would use it for anything. |
