This to me is a great Idea, we have for a while wanted to get just a little more attention at BBR/DSLR.com, but our project and goals didn't quite match the overall reason for the BBR/DSLR.com site. We have become and are a Major attraction, to DSLR/BBR (yes, like Disney), as a lot of new people come to DSLR/BBR.com just to visit our forum.
Our only direct link to the forum from the front page is that frequently we are one of the most busiest forums and get listed at the top of that little box that lists things like that. Now the owners and writers of the front page are wanting some info on our DC projects. We know there are a lot of magazines and computer related shows out there, that reference DSLR/BBR.com, what a better way to pump up our team, than get some headline stuff on the front page. (or close to it).
How would you guys like to have some one like Leo LePort mention Team Starfire and seti because we may have had a small article about hyper threading, OC'ing or DC projects? (I know that sounds far fetched, but it could be possible?)
Any way with out looking at the length of the majority of my post I am not a writer. But there are some well known people here who have a ton of knowledge about what we do and the technical things it takes to get them done.
For example: We have Roelof creator of one of the best known seti add-ons as a member. We have overhill as another. ScottMo has a definitive site for cpu speeds, regarding the usage of the 3.03 cli version on many different platforms and OS's. We have Cache operators who do wonders with the networking of their computers who could offer some thing. BBR_InsUW could give us a break down of managing a system of cross country farms. Each Crunchi host could write something on how they use VNC and operate the blades and maybe some tech stuff on running towerless. 72245156 could give some incites in managing a team like Team Starfire. And BOINC, and how it will be integrated in to Team Starfire and it's goals.
I just think this is a great opportunity to get a foot in the door for a reason bigger than our selves. I would offer my services as a writer for this info but I do not have the talent as some of the rest of you and would not be able to do this task any justice.
I did offer my help in attracting some of you to work on this, hence the 15 page post. lol
Let me know and I will forward you to JMartin
Thank-you all and remember even though we are but one of a family of DC projects here at DSLR/BBR.com they (the others) will be jumping on this big, we should not be left out. -- Why Aren't you Crunching for Broadbandreports.com? "Crunchie" is gaining a sibling! |
