We should exchange usernames, and see if we can test-out the quality.

 | reply to jeffpulver That just sounds so... negative. "You have no friends... online" |
|
 | reply to jeffpulver Can I be your online friend?? Cyber2lz |

 | reply to jeffpulver Just called a friend in another state and waited while he downloaded the app. Fired it up and then hung up the real telephone. The sound is amazing!!! He asked me what the hum was in the backgound and I told him I was in the server room!!! No ports to forward, truly plug and play! The only thing you cannot do is call someone on POTS!!!
Remarkable little app!!!! -- If you're not livin' on the edge, you're takin' up too much space ! |

spyware "featured" applications? |

It's an installer that just installs the app itself.
I'm running Ad-Aware now, to double-check.

CamPremium join:2003-01-25 Luther, OK | I saw some other discussion about spyware and the people there said that they didn't find any spyware, but posted some of the TOS that appeared to indicate that the future could change that.
If you know Kazaa you will know that Kazaa likes Adware and spyware, why would this product be any different? |

Well, maybe they're giving us a break since it's still BETA.

|
 | So do you have to use your computer speakers/mic? Isn't it like using ms netmeeting? It's been a while since I've used that! |
|
 | reply to jeffpulver Hi I have tried it too with a friend in Germany itself.. But the voice breaks and the quality was so so. And there was lot of echo.. Both of us were on T-DSL at 750 Kbps. But his computer is i guess PIII 450 Mhz. That could be one reason.
Then i called someone randomly in germany and the voice was pretty good. Then I tried someone in States and the voice was really excellent. Very loud and very clear. I spoke to that person for around 15 mins.. Absolutely no probs.
And then i tried with other people in Afganistan and Bangladesh.. No one answered the call in Afganistan, but one guy answered in Bangladesh, but couldnt establish voice chat with him.. Had to hangup..
But i would say, this has to evolve a lot and the reliability has to improve. Cheers |
