Unused CPU

I have participated in a couple. Most of the programs have a setting where the priority of the project can be set, with the default to be the least important. This means that anytime a demand is placed on the computer's CPU, the project lets anything and everything go to the processor first. There is no change in computer speed for anything a person wants to do. However when something like getting to a web page that you want to read happens (like this one right now) then the program again begins to utilize your computers CPU, as you read. Painless, non-intrusive, and a nice thing to be involved in.
I'm currently on team Starfire (SETI) which has moved to 6th place on the world club list.

No keyboard and no monitor (KVM switch), just a box running the software. Pretty slow though. I thought that since it would be running 24/7 it would crunch better, but its real slow. Murdok610
