| New Features for Old For my new feature request, I'd like to request an old feature: Put the [Logout] button back at the top of the page please.
And, yes, even as many times as I've hit that button when I intended to do something else (usually start a new post) - I'm just really going to miss it not being where it's supposed to be!

search needs to stand out more, logout is hardly ever used, I think its ok at the tail end of any page.. |

I'd say its pretty much an individual thing so I'm neither for or against it. I never log out anyway but then again, I don't share my computer.
acehyde-->one question, what icon would be interpreted as "search" with a very low margin of error? That's the only thing I can think of that would make using an icon less appealing than "search". Even using "search" is too easy to miss as it is

Actually I was thinking the X would be used as the logoff icon, maybe use  something along this line for a search icon?

I just noticed that. What I really want is the logout button on the posting page to be moved somewhere else. I click that by accident a few times while clicking Preview Again.

the 'logout' link was positioned right below the preview-again button.
Anyway that is not a link anymore so problem solved. |

Never hurts to get in the first shot, and yes, I kind of figure it's probably a less used feature. I just try to make sure I always log out - even though during the log-in I try to remember to clear the remember me box. Just don't want to take chances on someone impersonating me  .

Some of us actually do use public computers that we log out from when we're not at home. I hadn't even noticed that the button had switched, because I haven't been logged in yet in the lab that I normally use over the past couple of days. Logout being at the top seemed much more intuitive to me than it being at the bottom. That's a lot of extraneous scrolling that I'd rather not go through. I think in my entire time using the site I accidentally logged out twice.
Sometimes it feels like it's at the point where things are being changed just to change them, without any genuine reason behind doing so. Just an observation, but I think sometimes things are better left the way they are.
