| 911???
Um yea lets just say i think highspeed companies have hit a new low of stupidity. So yea, many people own cell phones. I do. So many of us our jerks that sit on em ( Itry to avoid that, as someone mentioned.. ITS REAL BAD TO DO.. only emergencies. Yes sittin on a cell phone makes you worse than the 80 year old grandma who can't see over he wheel and once veered into my oncoming lane and scared the crap out of me. MY POINT??? Just cause people have and use cell phones doesnt make them the END ALL ANSWER. Nothing is more secure than land lines. Look at the blackout folks had in NY. Cell phones didn't work but land lines did. But hey, Im sure that person needing 911 services who only had access to a cell phone ( which wouldnt work), would be glad that there are now no land line payphones. See the ignorance in removing one of the last resorts people have to make a call... Well hey I know, lets just provide every american a free laptop ( sarcasm here) and then they can log on and instant message a buddy to call 911.. Thats right, the overly delayed Highspeed help system. Better yet, if your pc has a webcam, Why not capture that emergency to put in the family album ( more sarcasm). I'm sure the kids would love to see the mugging on tape. Hey this is me being mugged, this is me being beaten.. so on so forth. But yet, where's that phone when you need it... Hence, taking away pay phones is a REALLY dumb idea. I can attest for the fact, that even when there is no service, there also might not be roaming. When i went to Tennessee, my phone couldnt get out in the mountains less i payed 75 cents a minute to roam, and then it dropped the call umpteen times and cost me a fortune before i got one successful call out. All this could have been solved IF THEY HAD PAY PHONE. Moral of the story, Sometimes the old ways the good way. |
