| Re: MSN broadband no longer available in my area?? Comcast Cable Internet is what I got to replace the DSL. I'm only getting 1.5mbps down, 256kbps up. I have seen avg download speeds of large files closer to 2.0, though. It's not bad. My only complaint is that when my DHCP expires from them (every 5 days), I have to reset everything. That could be something on my end though. I don't know.
I don't agree that cable internet has better pings than DSL, though. Maybe it is dependent on the area you are in, but my DSL was giving me fantastic pings around 150. Cable is giving me pings around 500-1500 on a lot of sites during certain parts of the day. That was one thing DSL had going for itself. It doesn't slow down depending on how many "neighbors" are using it. Cable DEFINITELY does, though even during slow times, it is faster than DSL (on data rates). |
