| Extensive praying, bribes, and blackmail have all been known to work... Seriously, though, in theory all it should require is a call to Telocity, which should actually be done (IMHO) by Earthlink. -- we were just souless, bloodsucking demons-they're lawyers... |

Anon | reply to taektonic If you are trying to get a NP line released, all you need is the LOA that Liz Fetter sent out »www.ev1dsl.net/ |

Anon | I didnt do any thing with Telocity. When NP put my line the tech guy used a second line from the phone box to my house so my primary phone line was never touched. In case with Earthlink they use you primary phone line to send you DSL signals. So my line was free for them. Didnt have to do any thing to telocity.
Covad and earthlink combination is pretty good. If you are closer to the CO you are surely in good shape. I am 7000 ft and I am geting around 1.5mb download. OMG, this is so awesome.

| reply to taektonic Warning! Get your old loop back! Had NorthPoint, now trying to switch to Covad. My NorthPoint loop was measured at 14200 feet. The loop I got while switching to Covad had bridge taps on it and measured at 23000 feet. Now my ISP says you cant get DSL. Called my old ISP and got my 'CFA' number and my circuit ID and asked my telco if it was available. They said yes. Called Covad and they told me off the record that when the Telco guy comes to do the outside wiring to intercept him and tell him the numbers and ask him to hook up that loop and let him know the loop was already measured and it was a good loop. Trying this out now.... (Took me 3 days of phone calls to get this figured out) |
