FYI - 200(w)x140(h) is a horizontal format. Your shots are vertical and will not fit that format. -- »/pics/dimaging/521493 | Verizon DSL (ex-BA) 1500/128 res | PPPOE via Linksys router |

Fly Blowing Bubble Fly Blowing Bubble |
Caught this fly in an evergreen bush in my yard. This is NOT a huge fly, but an ordinary house type fly. I was lucky, because this is the only shot that I got of it. I was only about 2" away from it and after making the shot, it flew off. I did not see it blow the bubble (as flies do) at the time I made the image. I did see it when I reviewed the image on the LCD screen (magnified) afterward. The bubble is a nice "bonus" that adds to the shot.
Macro photography allows us to see the smaller picture - the often over looked details in life. A fly is definitely not a pretty subject, but through this macro image we get to see the fly in a different way. The colors (greens, yellows, gold in the body of the fly) compliment each other. The red eyes contrast against the green background.
In my opinion, this image takes an ugly subject and creates something rather beautiful from it. -- »/pics/dimaging/521493 | Verizon DSL (ex-BA) 1500/128 res | PPPOE via Linksys router |

Thanks for the compliment and that's good enough for me If one person likes it I'm a winner,so please exclude me from any voting -- My Photo Gallery |

You probably can't tell just how magnified this is, but it's the very center of a small flower...the flower itself is about 2 inches in diameter, at most. I think it looks like a little rocket taking off (but as I've siad before, I'm a little strange. ) It was taken using my C740's macro mode, with a +10 diopter filter handheld in front of the lens (it fits my old camera and my macro lens hadn't arrived yet), so that's why the corner is a little dark. -- 4 cams, 5 cats, 7 days a week.=^..^= |

Another shot from West Virginia this past weekend. The area we were in had an amazing amount of small mushrooms growing in the woods, so I was practicing my macro abilities. Shot this with my G3 upside down hanging under the tripod (to get close enough), with both a +4 and +2 filters stacked with my UV/Haze. This mushroom was only about 3/4" tall, and my hand is just out of the shot shielding the light from the top to reduce glare -- Murphy was an optimist.. []|||||||[] |

Shot this fellow about 3 weeks ago. Seems like it fits the macro theme.
