You are lucky. My line was switched from Northpoint to Rhythms on April 30. However, Megapath was not able to connect and configure it. Apparently PacBell and Rhythms had the pairs labelled differently in the DSLAM. When they finally got together to inspect it, they discovered that "the pairs were not wired correctly." Apparently, there are several other customers who have the same problem. Now, PacBell is refusing to allow the Rhythms people in to tinker with their end of the lines and when asked when the problem will be fixed is refusing to give an estimate (ie "we will get to it when we feel like it"). I spoke to Megapath's customer care manager and he is escalating it to the management level. He personally called me back to give me a status update. I can't complain about Megapath, they are doing everything they can to get me back up. If Pacbell continues to obstruct,I will file a complaint with the PUC at the end of this week, with copies to all the tech reporters for Bay Area newspapers, my Congressman and of course, Congressman Conyers so he can use this as an example of why we must not give the Bells any more monopolistic power than they now have. The arrogance and contempt for customers of the PacBell suits is breathtaking. |
