B90-36R516 Rev E 04/00 Firmware Upgrade

I am unable run the Modem Diagnostic Software with the firmware installed. When I try to install the M/D software the error message I receive says: SEVERE - "This type of modem not supported. Setup cannot continue." My modem came with my PacBell service in 2000 and has the following firmware: Current - Ver 01.10.00, Bridge (DMT) 16 M Flash, Previous - NA - NA, Boot - 02.00.00, --, Modem Model # - B90-36R516. Bottom label also says 04/00, Transceiver Version - ModemAlcatel 141, Alcatel DMT Firmware. There is modem firmware upgrade at: www.westell.com/pages/verizon_down_pc.jsp
however I don't know if it will work on my PacBell modem and not mess things up! Also will I have to change any of the PVC values in the VCI table after the firmware upgrade? Any advice on the upgrade would be really appreciated . . .
