Re: No new guide, Not Yet!!!

Yes people No New Guide. I just heard that the new I-Guide is being postponed again for the Dallas area because of who knows why this time. I heard that some time early next year. Also Dallas (A/B) Line-up will not be seeing VOD yet because of some technical issues. Please don't ask what type of issues because they weren't specified. Sorry to break the bad news but all is regular with areas that are seeing VOD (For example: Garland, Frisco, McKinney, Cedar Hill, Lancaster, and some other Single Line 750Mhz plants that I might be forgetting). Don't Kill the messenger!!!

Re: Any HD 'in the clear' here?

now if you are looking for the channels to be 4-1, 5-1 etc. they are not there. in rowlett (garland area) fox is on 109-1, nbc is 109-2, cbs 80-3, i think. abc is 80-1, wb is 81-3, i think.

Thanks, Mike. Actually, I just let the TV scan for them and no digitals are being recognized at all, A-side or B-side. I forget how high it scans, but it is definitely into the 100s. I might try direct tuning to the ones you mentioned, though...thanks!

Can anyone in Arlington comment on the quality of non-HD channels with a 6412?

I'm in Farmers Branch and just got a 6412. I would classify the non-HD channels as barely acceptable.

Re: [COMCAST] HDTV in Dallas MetroPlex

Kcharg,

I received a voice message yesterday from Comcast saying that there was an error coming from my 6412 and that they needed to come to the house, check it out and possibly exchange the box out. I called them this morning and the CSR said that they were doing maintainence checks and received an error from my box. They would need to send someone out to check it out and decide if there was really a problem or not. If there was, they might have to exchange the 6412 box out. I told the CSR that there would be a big problem if they had to exchange the 6412 out and they did not have a new 6412 to replace it with. I told him that I knew that there was a shortage of 6412's in the DFW based on the info from this forum. He assured me that they had plenty. I told him that we would see. I am currently waiting on the CSR to call me back to setup a time for them to come out. I will be here when the tech comes out. Can you give me an idea what the problem might be because I have not have any glitches or problems on my end that I am aware of. I could PM you the work order ticket number if you would like.
Thanks

It is most likely that your box is not polling which in turn should mean that your box should not be seeing VOD or PPV at this time. It is becoming a big deal when boxes do not poll back to the Head-end and we can see which ones do or do not. Just schedule something ASAP and it most likely won't be a bad box if you are not seeing anything wrong with it even though we can tell something is wrong.

Do you think that there is any possibility that our area will get the i-guide before the end of the year because some areas right now on the i-guide posts are saying that their getting the guide now on some boxes. If we do get it next year I hope we get it in January.

We need to kill this thread. Threads of this size cause a huge strain on the BBR servers.

Whomever would like to do so, please start a new thread so I can lock this one up. IM me when you have it done and I'll put a link to the new thread in this one, so people can find it.
