The real way to stop spam, or at least the growth of spam is to boycott corporations that use spam. I get spam from Target and 1-800-Flowers all the time. I sure as hell am never buying from them. There is no way to boycott E-Businesses because there are too many of them. The true reason spam keeps it's strength and intensity is because dumb people keep purchasing the products that are advertised in the spam message. If you know someone who bought the penis enlargement pills or refinanced their home, punch 'em in the face. The best way to combat spam is to get a spam filter like SpamBayes. |

I have never gotten spam from a decent company unless I bought something from them and agreed to accept emails from them.
I find it hard to believe that Target would do that, just blindly spam someone. |

This gets complicated when applied to software companies. That copy of Norton Anti-Virus that you're being spammed about may be a legit copy being offered by an overzealous marketer that Symantec contracted with. However, it could also be a pirated copy from a spammer with no connections to Symantec whatsoever. So do you boycott Symantec products?
I do agree about never buying anything from Spam though. (The best are the "Never get spam again" spams. So you're admitting that spam is bad, but you'll still try to sell me stuff via it? ) -- -Jason Levine http://www.jasons-toolbox.com/ http://www.PCQandA.com/ http://www.urateit.com/ |

Unlike infomercials, I don't know of anyone who bought anything from spam e-mail. -- Hope this helps... |

Unlike spam, there are actually some good products advertised on infomercials. (A lot of junk, but some good stuff.) -- -Jason Levine http://www.jasons-toolbox.com/ http://www.PCQandA.com/ http://www.urateit.com/ |
