| Re: Do not spam list? Politicians attempting to do something that many technical geniuses have not accomplished. It is sometimes shocking what someone will attempt to pretend they are accomplishing when trying to get elected.
In many cases spam can actually contain illegal products like "give me your bank account number so I can give you money" or "buy drugs online". If these spammers are not concerned with US laws to begin with how does the logic of giving them a list with tons of valid email addresses and telling them "do not send spam to any of these people or you will get in big trouble".
The spam problem, like many other problems with the internet, has a technical solution not a legal one.
BTW, I signed up for the do not call list when it first came out meaning I should not get telemarketing calls after October 1st, is that right? Yet I still get telemarketing calls. Time will tell with the do not call list I guess. |
