How do you use Hotline???????

I have it on my pc.I just don't know how to search and download.

ok.. a brief but hopefully informative post to get you started:

Open Hotline. You will get main menu window (the one with all the buttons) and possibly a few other open windows too.
Forget all the other windows for now.. just concentrate on the Menu.

1) On the Menu.. click on the First button on the left. It has two dots.. one over the other. This is the 'Options' button. This is for your preferences. In Options.. in the 'General' section, enter your name.. this is viewed by everyone. Next in Options.. in the 'Icons' section, select your icon.. this is viewed by your name. The rest of the sections are for your own prefs... you can change these at any time. OK.. you are now identified.

2) On the Menu.. Click on the Second button from the left. It looks like the world globe. This is the 'Servers' button. This is going to be your main navigating point. It has a search facility and has (or will have) a list of your favorite hotline servers. These servers are also known as Trackers.

First we'll enter a server address. On the 'Servers' windows.. look for the second button from the left. It has three dots joined by lines.. it looks like an atomic structure..lol. Click it.. it is the 'Add Tracker' button. A 'New Account' window opens. In the window there are 2 boxes for name and address. In the address box enter "darksidetracker.dhs.org" (without the quotes). In the name box.. enter whatever you want.. the name is not important .. it is for your viewing only. You could call it "Dark Side".

When you have finished... click on 'save'.

You will now see the "Dark Side" Tracker listed on the 'Servers' Window.

3) On the 'Servers' window.. highlight the Darkside tracker by clicking it once. Then click on the third button from the left on the Servers window. It looks like a recycle arrow.. this is the 'refresh' button. (Note: You can also click on the arrow to the left of the Tracker to start accessing sites.)

The Servers window should now start showing all the sites listed under the Darkside Tracker. These are all the sites you can access to get what you want. Simply double click the sites you want to access.

4) Searching for what you want is easy. On the 'Servers' window.. enter what you are looking for in the search box e.g. MP3. Hotline will limit the viewed sites to the ones that only have MP3 in their site description. To do a search of what is 'IN' the sites, you need to go to »www.tracker-tracker.com/hotline/ This is search specific and can also find sites that are accesible by guests. (i.e. you don't need a login and password)

5) Some sites require a login and password. To enter the login and password .. hold down ALT and click on the site in the 'servers' window. A window should appear that will allow you to enter the login and password.

6) Sites requiring a login and password.. usually require you to read there site news. If you enter their site .. on the 'Menu' window.. you will see a button on the menu (5th one from left) that looks like a newspaper. Click on it and the news will appear. In the news.. they will give Access instructions and what you need to do to get the L/P. Usually it requires a few banners clicks.

Anyway.. the rest you will easily work out on your own. It is simple once you have been using it for a while.

Click here for some additional info from a previous thread on how to avoid 'banner clicking' sites. Some of these can be a real pain.. and are just a con to get them money. You will learn quickly to tell which ones.. trust me..lol. It also has another Tracker that you can add to your list.

Hey great info I wasn't sure how to put all that in words but you did a good job. Hotline is a great program. I have been using it forever.

Yea actually I too wasted many hours trying to get pass/logins. Actually I got it from a hotline server ad. Great ad probably the best one I've ever seen.
