U.K. teen acquitted with Trojan defense

A U.K. teen accused of launching a distributed denial-of-service attack on the Port of Houston's IT systems has been found not guilty of unauthorized modification of computer material.

The jury's ruling came Friday in the Southwark Crown Court in London. Even though both the defense and prosecution acknowledged that the attack had originated from Caffrey's computer, the defendant claimed his computer had been taken over by a hacker using a Trojan horse program.

Aaron Caffrey, 19, was accused of being part of an elite hacking group and of having the distributed denial-of-service script and the Internet Protocol (IP) addresses of more than 11,000 vulnerable servers on his computer.

At least another life was not ruined via the trenches of law. If he really did it, lets hope that he will make a 180 for the better.

Warning:You are about to respond to a post that is more than two weeks old.
It may be more useful to start a new topic, and if necessary, refer to this old topic.

You mean there is actually more news on this old story ??

what is the update ???

Re: U.K. teen acquitted with Trojan defense

Are you always such a jerk? I like having multiple sources to a story in one place. So do others - your a link junkie if memory serves me correct. Since I was the 1st to post on this one this time around I felt I'd drop it in my thread. You really need to drop your attitude. Or take it elsewhere. I've about had my fill of it. You don't like what I post? Stay the ---- out my threads.

And for the record you obviously didn't read the link. It wasn't just a story 100% related to the topic. It was a commentary on multiple cases including this one. Thus just a bit different than a news story on 1 UK case. But maybe if you were posting for a relevant reason instead of just trying to stir things up = you'd know this. Maybe you should read a bit before posting in the future. Isn't that the attitude you always take when someone does a dupe post? Take you own advice!!
