|  [IE6.x] Temporary Internet files cache set to 0
I'm using IE6.0 with Windows XP.
Something is changing my Temporary Internet files cache size from 64MB to 0MB. When I try to adjust the size of the cache to any value, an error box pops up saying "Please select a value between 1 and 0 for how much disk space temporary Internet files may use." So now there seems to be no way change the cache size... Even the value of 1 or 0 return the same error. The only way I can get back my cache is to use system restore to a point prior to this happening. Could my upgrade from AOL 8.0 to 9.0 have done this? Is this a virus? Any ideas?

| Well I think this is the right track, but how do I delete that Temporary Internet Files folder? The KBA you mention is for win95 and asks you to start up in ms-dos mode and use smartdrv and "deltree tempor~1" to delete the folder. I tried logging on as administrator using safe mode and was able to delete everything but my Temporary Internet Files folder... When I try to do so there are several 0 byte files it wont delete...

| How about opening the file in explorer and select all and delete?

Also, the following site gives some steps to deleting the TIF in XP (there is a suggestion to create a new account to delete the TIF, if you have a problem with the Administrator's account deleting the TIF):

Also, if you are running McAfee Virusscan with the "ActiveX Controls" enabled in "Internet Filter" , there have been reports of this not allowing any "History" in IE, and also possibly affecting the ability to change the disk space for the TIF.
