| And wrack my brain again like I did with this one?
Well, I'll have to condition it some more, but I think it's doable. -- Why I hate VIA |

| reply to C0deZer0 Well, looks like I found the culprit app (when I have everything on) that won't lemme get into 3k...
It's my firewall
Though I really like Sygate too... it's been nice to me, and now to find out it's been the thing cutting on my memory bandwidth the most.
Anyone here got any suggestions for a better one? -- Why I hate VIA |

This is my one and only computer. What's the point of getting a router, if there's only going to be one machine connected to it? -- Why I hate VIA |

Cheap, useful and if you do get a second comp it will help,
Now why would you put excess load onto your cpu, use the cycles for someting useful, Trust me, routers are like 30$ |

| reply to C0deZer0 Well, unless someone's extremely paranoid and doesn't open any mail attachments, and turns off all java/activex in the browser & mail, a NAT router can't protect from getting infected from those sources. Also, NAT does a pretty good job of separating WAN from LAN and vice-versa, but it can't protect from an infected PC on the LAN calling out. Only a s/w firewall on the PC itself can do that inexpensively. |

shray Premium join:2002-09-05 Edison, NJ | reply to C0deZer0 But how would it get infected? Human error Throughout all my time as a computer user with a router.. Not one virus ... |
