| reply to compugeek "Insight expects to begin deploying TV Guide Interactive to its DVR-enabled customers in time for the upcoming holiday retail season."
So this really only effects the few communities that have been lucky enough to already get the DVR service. Which means only a certain part of Kentucky and maybe Indiana. Heck after 5 + years of telling local installers the cable boxes we use had the video on demand capability and getting blank stares. Insight has finally now gone live with the service in my area. I'm sure I'll see the new DVR cable boxes and service maybe in a year or 2 at the current rate of deployment.
I can say the On Demand service gets more use than even the regular cable in our house. Nice to be able to watch my favorite series when I want to. Not when someone else deems I should. -- Test Your Security Team Z Member Cable Modem Diagnostics InsightBB 3000/384 XP PRO |

| reply to compugeek Hey, according to what i've been told, Insight is NOT going to use the modem included with the unit. Also, the unit will be released in early december.
Also, heres some more info from the memo that was issued today.
"The monthly rental for the 6208 is $12.95 a month. This gives you DVR, VOD, TV Guide Interactive, and the free HD channels (CBS, NBC, ABC, and Bravo). Customers can subscribe to ESPN HD, Discovery HD, HD Net, and HD Net Movies for an additional 7.95. Remember, the customer must have a High Definition TV to receive these channels in High Definition. The box rental is $12.95 regardless if the customer wants HD capability or not." -- Hi, I'm whyer, and that's my Insight! |
