You must have read my mind because I was going to start a thread asking for a spell checker. Now I don't have to google a word to check the spelling. Thank you!

I used yahoo web mail compose as a model. Sorry about the pop-up window, there isn't too good a method of doing it any other way. If the pop-up window does not appear immediately, then blame IE, for it is an IE bug.

Exactly. The yahoo spell checker is what I had in mind. The pop-up does take a while to open but it is definitely faster than using a separate browser or application to spell check. Definitely an improvement.

Re: Thanks for the spell checker!

I use iespell.

Any way to turn off this one? BTW it flags real user=names too.

I'm sure many will appreciate it though!

Re: Thanks for the spellchecker!

The only thing I don't like about this is if you misspell the same word more than once, it won't show it. Unless you preview/spell check again, so maybe if a word is misspelled more than once either changing the first misspelled word changes all the others or the other misspelled words become red.

Re: Thanks for the spell checker!

no, it is on by default if you want to preview+spell check, just like it was when it made words appear in red. You can always use the textarea to correct stuff, and ignore the form above.

That is indeed what happens.

Other issues may be involve but can the "?" be replaced by a list box to avoid the pop-up?

No, the pop-up is/requires a server call.

Replacing ? with a list box does not help if you want to edit the word. You'd need to replace it with an input field AND a list box, and a nightmare tangle of javascript.

OT: pop-ups work very well on firebird no need for a pop-up stopper (pops from the same server are allowed and shown by default, others are indicated but not shown, no active-x, no delay).

Very nice feature. I imagine it was quite a bit of work to implement. Thank you!
