Johnny_M ......You must work for NorVergence. How could anyone say anything nice about a company that is run by the brother of a convicted fraudster? Tom Salzano was sued and lost big. Just check with the FTC. Yes lots of corporations where slamming phone service. Does it make it ok?No. Look at the NorVergence web site, they claim to be partners of Qwest, Nortel, IBM and etc. Does Qwest, Nortel or IBM claim a relationship?NO. Do yourself a favour......just give one of these companies a call! Then come back and post. Its just a matter of time before the whole house of cards comes crashing down. Do yourself a favour, LEAVE THE COMPANY NOW. Why go down in a sinking ship? |

| Oh, I am getting sucked into this. This is like reading the tabloids. No redeeming information but you can't help picking it up to find out about the 200 lb alien baby in Redding.
A couple of recent posts got me asking a question that they did not answer in the posts.
How do we know they are loosing money? If that is the case, and they have no way of going profitable, then sure, scam. But how do we know they are loosing money every month? Because MPower says so? Give me something more.
Can MI5 please provide documentation of the conviction? The only facts that I can find on this guy Salzano is that he ran MRP, entered into a settlement with the FCC and that is it.
Come on folks, a couple of people on this board are doing their homework. Let's get to the point were we can answer questions with solid information. Not rumors and lies. |

| BTW, 2-years in business is not new in this day and age. And checked with the BBB. In 2-years, no valid complaints and they change some contract practices to meet tougher BBB guidelines.
goto www.bbb.org Don't seach with the state, just the name and it will give you general informaion about the company. Then go to the New Jersey BBB and call to get information. They are very helpfull. Also, find out what it takes to be a business in good standing with the BBB. This is not a pay your fee and you are in. Your company is grilled and investigated. I guess this is not all bad. I learned something from being sucked in by this train wreck of a board. |

| reply to MI5 People are asking for facts, some are stated but passed over. Others just keep throwing fuel on the fire. I agree...show proof. If you are a Norvergence employee and are enjoying your job, tell us why? If you are a real customer of Norvergence, it's okay...if you are getting what they stated and you are satisfied, great.
My bottom line is this company lies to everyone about who they are, who they are involved with and about their service. I don't care which brother is running the company.
Everyone keeps referring to the FTC site so there must be proof right? No one has attached any such article or proof about salzano being banned. The only fact I found was the voluntary 1.2 M penalty. Bring on the proof and stop talking about what is not being backed up. Here is my proof about how Norvergence lies...
I emailed Nortel on October 27. Below I have attached their reply:
Thank you for bringing this incident to our attention. Nortel Networks has no affiliation with Norvergence, and does not endorse the products or services being offered. Any decision to purchase from [or be employed by] Norvergence should be made independently and should not be based on any alleged or implied relationship between Nortel Networks and Norvergence. In case we may need to contact you later regarding your experience, may I gather a few pieces of information? What product or service they are trying to sell, phone number, sales representative's name, and location of the company or any additional information that pertains to this situation?
We will document and forward this information to the proper contact.

| reply to Smiley2 FYI,
BBB-Online has Norvergence as an open file date of January 08, 2003 meaning they just became a member 10 months ago.
It would appear they are delivering savings to current clients so the only filing complaints would be companies they lied to or potential employees, neither can file a complaint with BBB since no "business" was conducted. |

Wrong - From D&B Site »www.dnb.com/us/weblogo/faq.asp
"The D&B Web Logo program provides you with the opportunity to place a D&B Logo on your web site..."
and
"Participants of the D&B Web Logo Program must meet certain criteria including: active operations; not in bankruptcy; and, does not meet D&Bs Business Deterioration criteria. D&B actively monitors D&B Web Logo Participants for eligibility in this program" |

| reply to kaygrey So kaygrey,
If I follow your logic - Norvergence lies to people that do not sign-up for their programs and tells the truth and lives up to their commitments with customers.
In order to "open" a file with the BBB you have to meet stringent guidelines and maintain them. It goes far beyond just customers. They are detailed in how you can market your company. And this is not just fluff on their part.
Companies that are scams find it hard to comply with the BBB standards for more than a month or two. |

| reply to Smiley2 Sorry - but you are wrong on the D&B logo. Go back into your link and look at some of the companies websites that D&B gives you a link to. It is a different logo and when you click on the logo - it brings you to the D&B site to purchase a report. D&B does not allow you purchase obtain your own report and post it on your site as a pdf file with their logo. Do you really think D&B would like to give away free reports - doesn't work that way. But please watch closely, much fun to follow! |

How come in one post you talked with them and in this post you e-mailed? At least the shils posting as customers can keep their lies straight.
So has ATX lost business from Norvergence? You must be working in a market that Norvergence has just moved into. |

| I work for Qwest managing customer service and implentation for the wholesale group.
Just got out of a long meeting with some of the people who run the business sales side. They are not happy with Norvergence. I have been aware of them for over a year and they are the fastest growing company we deal with. Until today I was not aware of what they are paying Qwest for T1's. I won't give our price but lets just say when they sell it for $79 they are not loosing money.
Our sales people are pissed. They are loosing business and unable to take advantage of the upside in our contract.
FYI on Nortel - the Solutions by Nortel will go away before January 1st. It appears that the agreement between Nortel and Norvergence was for exclusive purchases on a Nortel ATM Gateway with Norvergence software. It sounds like the relationship brook down this summer with Nortel could not deliever ATM over DSL leaving Norvergence holding the bag with many customers. At that point, Norvergence stopped talks about using Nortel Phone equipment and went to Panasonic. That allowed Nortel to get out of the "Solutions by Nortel" portion of the contract. This comes from the person who manages the Qwest relationship at Nortel.
So I will keep doing my job getting circuits installed for Norvergence, our direct group will be figuring out how to attack Norvergence (legal warned about supporting any of the rumors found on this board and other places) and Nortel is going to continue to give false information about the relationship to discredit this company. |

Loops aren't that expensive if they are facilities based. I have a friend at Mpower that just called me today and told me of a T-1 product that provides 24 voice channels and up to 800kbps of data for $900. The loop costs Mpower $20. |

Smiley,
I've held both conversation and sent an emails to Nortel requesting the information so I could post it for the review of the readers. As I explained in previous email many post are giving information but not backing it up with facts.
I am the first who wants to see this company's real identity come out, good or bad, and if bad I want to make certain everyone knows the truth before any corporate decision are made to sign an 5-year contract.
Your attack on me explains why this board has become weak. It would help if you need clarification you would ask and not accuse someone of lying or keeping it straight.
I want to thank everyone who is contributing information, good or bad about the company along with verified information.
I will say it again, based on my personal experience with the company, that I almost went to work for, I would not recommend them based on their practices and foundation they stand on. The fact when I started asking questions about relationships and declined to attend their 2-week training due to the weak credibility, I was told they would not refund me for the airfare based on the fact I was "not" and employee while I was directed to purchase, attend and sign an employment agreement. If this $150 million company needs the $400 more then an unemployed husband and father so be it, but I will not rest until they reimburse me or I find the truth. |

| Kaygrey,
Your own post shows me how this board has become weak. By your own admission you have put yourself in the category of "disgruntled ex-employee with a bone to pick".
I know that it can be hard to have a fact-driven conversation about an entity that you feel has done you wrong. Even though you try to keep it fair and balanced, your bias show through via the passion you display in your attempts to be vindicated.
You are right, though, not many posts on this board have actual facts in them. Unfortunately my post at this time must fall into that very category. My information comes second hand from not only Norvergence employees that I know, but also employees of most of the other competitive companies in my area.
But, the telecom world is a small place. Everybody knows everybody. And I think that you know as well as I that scams don't last 3 years in Telecom, and they don't do nationwide rollouts. If it was truly a scam, trust me, everybody would know it.
But I do hope that you get your $400. Because I agree that losing your money for no reason is B.S.. That's why I went the Agent route... You don't have as many of those problems. |

As to loop? A dry copper loop or is there equipment provided? Is it for a dry copper qualified pair and the reseller has a colocate and provides the equipment? Or for that little everything? |

kaygrey,
You are all over the place on your posts.
You start by asking about why someone would go work for them. You then state that you considering suing them. Then move to information that you got from prospective SM.
Now you tell this board that you accepted their offer, then decided not to honor your agreement (as is your right) and upset because they will not reimburse you for a plane ticket.
Now that you are called on it you are upset because it is clear that you have an agenda of getting this company. I questioned your motives and it is clear that I was on track.
So are you currently working for ATX or did you quite that job when you started looking at Norvergence. |

Mismanagement -- exit strategy
I have a cousin who works at Novergence's large call center in NJ. Management can't seem to find out a way to get three hundred people out of the company at quitting time.
We pass through a small door and enter room, where we sign out on sheets tapped on the wall. We don't write our names in. We just right the time in.
Sometimes the sheets are not in alphabetical order.
It takes nearly twenty minutes for three hundred people to sign out. We often miss our trains and buses to go home.
If we don't sign in and out each day we lose our "attendance bonus", which for many employees represents a thousand dollars. (We are marked absence)
If we complain in the company they ask us to leave (fired!).
My question is how do I go about remedying the situation? The office is crowded, queues too close together, little aisle space.
Anyone got any ideas? |
