| Re: NorVergence Continued Oh, I am getting sucked into this. This is like reading the tabloids. No redeeming information but you can't help picking it up to find out about the 200 lb alien baby in Redding.
A couple of recent posts got me asking a question that they did not answer in the posts.
How do we know they are loosing money? If that is the case, and they have no way of going profitable, then sure, scam. But how do we know they are loosing money every month? Because MPower says so? Give me something more.
Can MI5 please provide documentation of the conviction? The only facts that I can find on this guy Salzano is that he ran MRP, entered into a settlement with the FCC and that is it.
Come on folks, a couple of people on this board are doing their homework. Let's get to the point were we can answer questions with solid information. Not rumors and lies.

goto www.bbb.org Don't seach with the state, just the name and it will give you general informaion about the company. Then go to the New Jersey BBB and call to get information. They are very helpfull. Also, find out what it takes to be a business in good standing with the BBB. This is not a pay your fee and you are in. Your company is grilled and investigated. I guess this is not all bad. I learned something from being sucked in by this train wreck of a board.

| FYI,
BBB-Online has Norvergence as an open file date of January 08, 2003 meaning they just became a member 10 months ago.
It would appear they are delivering savings to current clients so the only filing complaints would be companies they lied to or potential employees, neither can file a complaint with BBB since no "business" was conducted.

| Re: NorVergence Continued So kaygrey,
If I follow your logic - Norvergence lies to people that do not sign-up for their programs and tells the truth and lives up to their commitments with customers.
In order to "open" a file with the BBB you have to meet stringent guidelines and maintain them. It goes far beyond just customers. They are detailed in how you can market your company. And this is not just fluff on their part.
Companies that are scams find it hard to comply with the BBB standards for more than a month or two.

| Re: NorVergence Continued I work for Qwest managing customer service and implentation for the wholesale group.
Just got out of a long meeting with some of the people who run the business sales side. They are not happy with Norvergence. I have been aware of them for over a year and they are the fastest growing company we deal with. Until today I was not aware of what they are paying Qwest for T1's. I won't give our price but lets just say when they sell it for $79 they are not loosing money.
Our sales people are pissed. They are loosing business and unable to take advantage of the upside in our contract.
FYI on Nortel - the Solutions by Nortel will go away before January 1st. It appears that the agreement between Nortel and Norvergence was for exclusive purchases on a Nortel ATM Gateway with Norvergence software. It sounds like the relationship brook down this summer with Nortel could not deliever ATM over DSL leaving Norvergence holding the bag with many customers. At that point, Norvergence stopped talks about using Nortel Phone equipment and went to Panasonic. That allowed Nortel to get out of the "Solutions by Nortel" portion of the contract. This comes from the person who manages the Qwest relationship at Nortel.
So I will keep doing my job getting circuits installed for Norvergence, our direct group will be figuring out how to attack Norvergence (legal warned about supporting any of the rumors found on this board and other places) and Nortel is going to continue to give false information about the relationship to discredit this company.

| Re: Norvergence Scam Mismanagement -- exit strategy
I have a cousin who works at Novergence's large call center in NJ. Management can't seem to find out a way to get three hundred people out of the company at quitting time.
We pass through a small door and enter room, where we sign out on sheets tapped on the wall. We don't write our names in. We just right the time in.
Sometimes the sheets are not in alphabetical order.
It takes nearly twenty minutes for three hundred people to sign out. We often miss our trains and buses to go home.
If we don't sign in and out each day we lose our "attendance bonus", which for many employees represents a thousand dollars. (We are marked absence)
If we complain in the company they ask us to leave (fired!).
My question is how do I go about remedying the situation? The office is crowded, queues too close together, little aisle space.
Anyone got any ideas? | |

Everyone keeps trying to drag down Norvergence. Claiming their MATRIX box is really an adtran, the savings they promise customers are never realized, and the company is run by wanna-be mobsters. Wait until the shit really hits the fan with the new solution. About a month ago Norv introduced their new 800 direct solution. Their traditional line replacement solution, was a very redundant solution. Their new product replaces all existing lines, and puts everything over a T1, in essence putting all your eggs in one basket. Oh yeah and customers are no longer able to keep their existing land line phone numbers. Stay tuned........

99.9% of phone companies save you money, jackass! But they are also honest in their sales approach as well. They don't claim alliances they clearly don't have or tell you "engineering comes up with cost of your magic box" when all they are doing is cutting 10-20% off your current price, or tell you there is some special "approval process" and then send your financial info to 15-20 banks to see who wants the lease.
Any company can save you $$$$, but if they are less than straight forward in how they do it, they usually sends up a red flag. And based on the amount of negative things coming out about Norvergence, there is alot of red flags going up. I am sure you'll have a rebuttal to defend your company, but the hits just keep coming, people are really catching on.

| Here is a post from a customer, doesn't sound too good for Norvergence (this post is located on this website, you can find it by entering "norvergence" in the search box above), this should answer some of your questions buduan:
NOTE: this is in response to the post by taadan Re: Looking For Norvergence Customer Statements I bought into this norvergence product. If you are considering norvergence as a solution, DON'T!
When I signed up, I was told that they would take over my Nextel cellular bills until norvergence finalized their agreement with Nextel. There is no (and never will be) agreement with Nextel. I have been signed up with norvergence since June 2003. To date, I have received one reimbursement check for my June Nextel bill.
On August 12, I received Sprint phones. I called norvergence and asked what the phones were for. They said these are the new phones that I need to use. I said that I cannot use these phones because we have proprietary java applications that run on our Nextel phones. Their response was "Oh Well". To date, the Sprint phones are still in their original shipping box.
On to this Matrix box. They came out and installed an Adtran Netvana 1050. A few weeks after the install, I called norvergence and asked where my Matrix box was. They said the Adtran box is actually the Matrix box. He went on to say that the Adtran box is just a shell, all of the circuits inside were redone. I asked who warrants this box and he said the manufacturer. I asked, WHO IS THE MANUFACTURER?" He danced around the question. I asked them, how can you justify leased payments totaling over $30,000 for a $400 product. They responded by saying, you are the one that signed the agreement.
Never at one particular time did norvergence have all of my land lines on their account. For two months the only line that they had was my fax line. They told me to fax my long distance bills form my other carrier and they would reimburse me. I sent them my June bill for $315 and my July bill for $340. They reimbursed my $85 and $275 respectively. I told them that they didn't reimburse my the full amount. Their response was that the amounts were correct and that was all that they were responsible to reimburse.
I stopped paying my lease in September. I switched my long distance back to my other carrier. I told norvergence either take me to court or terminated this fraudulent agreement. They continue to ignore my requests.
By the way, I know that you are aware of this, the Adtran box is completely useless. You can unplug it and it will not effect your phone service. I have multiple lines and remote locations. A norvergence rep told me that it didn't matter, the Matrix box does not need to be hooked up to all of the lines.
What infuriates me the most, is that I do read the small print. The sheet that goes over the terms and conditions of the rental agreement was never given to me. That is the sheet that basically says, if norvergence goes out of business, I still have to pay the lease payments. I first time the I saw that form was when I asked the leasing company, USBancorp, to fax me the agreement. I was shocked to see that someone clearly forged my initials on the document. I have called many times to raise hell about this, but I just get blown off.
I have filed complaints with both the FCC and the New Jersey Dept. of Consumer Affairs. In the mean time, the leasing company continue to harass me.
