I work for Qwest managing customer service and implentation for the wholesale group.
Just got out of a long meeting with some of the people who run the business sales side. They are not happy with Norvergence. I have been aware of them for over a year and they are the fastest growing company we deal with. Until today I was not aware of what they are paying Qwest for T1's. I won't give our price but lets just say when they sell it for $79 they are not loosing money.
Our sales people are pissed. They are loosing business and unable to take advantage of the upside in our contract.
FYI on Nortel - the Solutions by Nortel will go away before January 1st. It appears that the agreement between Nortel and Norvergence was for exclusive purchases on a Nortel ATM Gateway with Norvergence software. It sounds like the relationship brook down this summer with Nortel could not deliever ATM over DSL leaving Norvergence holding the bag with many customers. At that point, Norvergence stopped talks about using Nortel Phone equipment and went to Panasonic. That allowed Nortel to get out of the "Solutions by Nortel" portion of the contract. This comes from the person who manages the Qwest relationship at Nortel.
So I will keep doing my job getting circuits installed for Norvergence, our direct group will be figuring out how to attack Norvergence (legal warned about supporting any of the rumors found on this board and other places) and Nortel is going to continue to give false information about the relationship to discredit this company. |

Loops aren't that expensive if they are facilities based. I have a friend at Mpower that just called me today and told me of a T-1 product that provides 24 voice channels and up to 800kbps of data for $900. The loop costs Mpower $20. |

As to loop? A dry copper loop or is there equipment provided? Is it for a dry copper qualified pair and the reseller has a colocate and provides the equipment? Or for that little everything? |

| Mismanagement -- exit strategy
I have a cousin who works at Novergence's large call center in NJ. Management can't seem to find out a way to get three hundred people out of the company at quitting time.
We pass through a small door and enter room, where we sign out on sheets tapped on the wall. We don't write our names in. We just right the time in.
Sometimes the sheets are not in alphabetical order.
It takes nearly twenty minutes for three hundred people to sign out. We often miss our trains and buses to go home.
If we don't sign in and out each day we lose our "attendance bonus", which for many employees represents a thousand dollars. (We are marked absence)
If we complain in the company they ask us to leave (fired!).
My question is how do I go about remedying the situation? The office is crowded, queues too close together, little aisle space.
Anyone got any ideas? |

That's about all I know, I haven't worked there in over 2 years. |

Either you work for a competitor, or your some bored little troll with nothing better to do than hammer away on mom and dads keyboard. |
