said by buduan : Loops aren't that expensive if they are facilities based. I have a friend at Mpower that just called me today and told me of a T-1 product that provides 24 voice channels and up to 800kbps of data for $900. The loop costs Mpower $20.
As to loop? A dry copper loop or is there equipment provided? Is it for a dry copper qualified pair and the reseller has a colocate and provides the equipment? Or for that little everything? |

| Mismanagement -- exit strategy
I have a cousin who works at Novergence's large call center in NJ. Management can't seem to find out a way to get three hundred people out of the company at quitting time.
We pass through a small door and enter room, where we sign out on sheets tapped on the wall. We don't write our names in. We just right the time in.
Sometimes the sheets are not in alphabetical order.
It takes nearly twenty minutes for three hundred people to sign out. We often miss our trains and buses to go home.
If we don't sign in and out each day we lose our "attendance bonus", which for many employees represents a thousand dollars. (We are marked absence)
If we complain in the company they ask us to leave (fired!).
My question is how do I go about remedying the situation? The office is crowded, queues too close together, little aisle space.
Anyone got any ideas? |

That's about all I know, I haven't worked there in over 2 years. |

| after careful review and consideration i've realized that this company is the way of the future...yeah you lease it...yeah it's an unorthodox and different way of doing things but all in all i think that it makes sense...there's always a little apprehension in the whole shindig but i'm pretty satisfied with the way they function...they seem to be growing fast and i wouldn't be surprised to see them trade publicly soon |

| Since you know so much about their sales tactics jackass, why don't you enlighten us? All I keep seeing you post is that it is a scam. Whenever I ask you why it's a scam you never elaborate.
Either you work for a competitor, or your some bored little troll with nothing better to do than hammer away on mom and dads keyboard. |

| Read some of the posts you idiot, past and present Norv. employees are telling you about the B.S. sales tactics, I don't need to rewrite what they already said (although for someone like you, I may have to)!!!!
I know your proud of your employer and your just trying to defend them, but this thread doesn't paint a very flattering picture of Norvergence!!! |

| Has anyone noticed that Nortel's logo is no longer on Norvergences webpage?!?!?! When our company was approached by Norvergence - they couldn't say "Nortel Networks" enough. Now they have an Adtran link. Looks like they made a mistake when promoting their product to us. |

| reply to buduan Here is a post from a customer, doesn't sound too good for Norvergence (this post is located on this website, you can find it by entering "norvergence" in the search box above), this should answer some of your questions buduan:
NOTE: this is in response to the post by taadan Re: Looking For Norvergence Customer Statements I bought into this norvergence product. If you are considering norvergence as a solution, DON'T!
When I signed up, I was told that they would take over my Nextel cellular bills until norvergence finalized their agreement with Nextel. There is no (and never will be) agreement with Nextel. I have been signed up with norvergence since June 2003. To date, I have received one reimbursement check for my June Nextel bill.
On August 12, I received Sprint phones. I called norvergence and asked what the phones were for. They said these are the new phones that I need to use. I said that I cannot use these phones because we have proprietary java applications that run on our Nextel phones. Their response was "Oh Well". To date, the Sprint phones are still in their original shipping box.
On to this Matrix box. They came out and installed an Adtran Netvana 1050. A few weeks after the install, I called norvergence and asked where my Matrix box was. They said the Adtran box is actually the Matrix box. He went on to say that the Adtran box is just a shell, all of the circuits inside were redone. I asked who warrants this box and he said the manufacturer. I asked, WHO IS THE MANUFACTURER?" He danced around the question. I asked them, how can you justify leased payments totaling over $30,000 for a $400 product. They responded by saying, you are the one that signed the agreement.
Never at one particular time did norvergence have all of my land lines on their account. For two months the only line that they had was my fax line. They told me to fax my long distance bills form my other carrier and they would reimburse me. I sent them my June bill for $315 and my July bill for $340. They reimbursed my $85 and $275 respectively. I told them that they didn't reimburse my the full amount. Their response was that the amounts were correct and that was all that they were responsible to reimburse.
I stopped paying my lease in September. I switched my long distance back to my other carrier. I told norvergence either take me to court or terminated this fraudulent agreement. They continue to ignore my requests.
By the way, I know that you are aware of this, the Adtran box is completely useless. You can unplug it and it will not effect your phone service. I have multiple lines and remote locations. A norvergence rep told me that it didn't matter, the Matrix box does not need to be hooked up to all of the lines.
What infuriates me the most, is that I do read the small print. The sheet that goes over the terms and conditions of the rental agreement was never given to me. That is the sheet that basically says, if norvergence goes out of business, I still have to pay the lease payments. I first time the I saw that form was when I asked the leasing company, USBancorp, to fax me the agreement. I was shocked to see that someone clearly forged my initials on the document. I have called many times to raise hell about this, but I just get blown off.
I have filed complaints with both the FCC and the New Jersey Dept. of Consumer Affairs. In the mean time, the leasing company continue to harass me. |
