It's just another ploy to squeeze more money out of the unsuspecting. If I can't use my ftp software to download my webpage, I don't want the space -- free or otherwise. |

Apparently, it cost 4.95/mo to get FTP access. This is not really a good thing, as with just about any other ISP, even dial up, that supply webspace, provide FTP access. |

It seems I do need to clarify myself quite a lot because I made a gross error; I mixed machines in the same paragraph. Let me try to get it right this time.
SBC supports Mac; Yahoo does not.
I could not use the Yahoo personal webpage at Geocities using W98se. I think the error message said I needed XP or ME. It also said they were sorry but the area was not available for Macintosh users. I did not persue it as I am not going to upgrade to a new MS Operating Sytstem. I disabled Yahoo.
Imho, there are a dozen ways to give users home page space without requiring a *special* Operating System. ISPs do it every day.
