Re-installing Raspppoe?

I recently uninstalled Raspppoe because of connection problems which wound up being a modem problem.I am now trying to re-install Raspppoe and need some help. When I click on My Network Places(Win Me), click Add, Select Network Component Type, select Protocol, click Add. The Select Network Protocol to Install window opens and on the left, under manufacturer, Microsoft is highlighted and under that is Robert Schlabbach(the author of Raspppoe). When Microsoft is highlighted all of these things for me to install are listed,(on the right in the Network Protocol window) ATM call manager, etc. When I highlight Robert Schlabbach, PPP over Ethernet Protocol is highlighted in the component window. What do I do at this part of the installation? And I have the Raspppoe package stored in my Winzip directory. When I am questioned as to where the inf. file is what do I type in?

Re: Re-installing Raspppoe?

Bob, I have printed out 18 pages of that site and have everything it has to offer. But I don't seem to find an instance where one has already installed Raspppoe and uninstalled and now is trying to install again. The thing is the first time you install, the Robert Schlabbach notation doesn't come up because the software has never been introduced into the machine. Also when asked to notate directory where the inf. file is could I type in Winzip since that's where the files are stored because Raspppoe is a Zip file?

Re: Re-installing Raspppoe?

You need to Unzip the Raspppoe zip file to a directory (any will do) just remember where you unzipped to. When you select the protocol of Robert Schlabbach select have disk and then point it to the directory you unzipped to. any of the inf files will work. After it installs, reboot then from the start menu select run then type in raspppoe then OK. Select your OS and its a cake walk from there!

Re: Re-installing Raspppoe?

It's sitting in My Documents zipped. I should go there and send it to my desktop zipped? Or should I go to Winzip where it is unpacked and send each individual .inf file to My Desktop?

Click for full size
When you select the protocol & select have disk, browse to the directory where the unzipped files are.
