New Mac owner with .mac question

I just bought an e-mac for my wife and was wondering what experience you all have with .mac?

Worth it or no?

Thanks

Thanks - after reading the thread looks like it's worth it.

What did you finally decide BTW??

I went for the trial and decided to keep it. Specially now with Panther that syncs with idisk automatically.

I'm very happy with it but it depends on whether you take advantage of what it offers. Here's what I use:
• offsite storage for my mission critical files
• Backup utility automates above
• use Homepage to upload family pix for others to view
• iPhoto automates upload to idisk
• free Virex
• free Tech Tool Pro
• iSync synchronizes Safari bookmarks on two different macs.

YMMV,
Ken

So how do you get Backup to do incremental backups, like just backing up the stuff that's new? Is it automatic, and I just generated more stuff than would then fit in the iDisk?

It's automatic. it will only copy files that have been updated or new files.

I believe that this topic has been discussed in .mac message boards (available only to .mac subscribers). Specifically, there is debate as to whether Backup performs a completely new backup or incrementally changes what is already there. My recall is that it does not do incremental backup.
