| reply to aaron2486 I recently installed NIS and also disliked the AntiSpam feature and wanted to remove it but keep the rest of NIS. After reading the post by Mzzl I tried his suggestion but it didn't work (for me anyway). I tried something else that I THINK did the trick. Go to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Symantec Shared\Antispam and move everything from the directory somewhere else (I Couldn't move the log folder thou)then open Outlook Express and go to Tools\message rules\mail and delete the AntiSpam rule then delete the AntiSpam folder and that SHOULD take care of it. |

| reply to Mzzl Hey Mzzl!
I followed your instructions above - renamed the Msouplug.dll file and the toolbar in Outlook disappeared... just like you said it would. However, after about two hours my outlook crashed. My question to you is this: Have you experienced that? When I checked the eventlog I got the following message:
Hanging application OUTLOOK.EXE, version 10.0.4510.0, hang module hungapp, version 0.0.0.0, hang address 0x00000000.
Does anyone know if this is a result of renaming the file??? |

@telenet-ops.be | reply to aaron2486 It's quite simple: rename the outlook plugin DLL in the Antispam directory:
dir: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Symantec Shared\Antispam file: Msouplug.dll
eg: rename to Msouplug-dll.old
This makes the toolbar go away. |

| reply to Randy Bell If you install NIS2004, you cannot uninstall just Antispam, and you cannot turn off the Antispam button in Outlook Express. The only way to get rid of Antispam is to uninstall ALL of NIS2004. If you still want a firewall from Norton, you have to buy Norton Personal Firewall, or someone else's software because you are annoyed that Norton has released a pooched product... |

If you turned off AntiSpam, why not just uninstall it completely? Sounds like you don't want it, right? Sorry for asking a dumb question .. LOL. :) -- "But now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love." (1 Cor. 13:13) |
